ACCIDENTAL COLLECTOR TELLS ALL

For a long time friends have been urging me to write something about my art collection. (Do I have a ‘collection?’ I never consciously set out to create one.) But I finally had to admit that after more than 30 years of acquiring art that simply appealed to me, I’ve definitely accumulated more than a ‘normal’ person. Some were unplanned by-products of vacations, others found in galleries, and some bought after discovering an artist on the Internet. Selecting just 20 pieces for this exhibition from a considerably larger number was no easy task. My goal was to offer a diversity of cultures, mediums, subjects, and most importantly, stories—mine and those of the artists I’ve collected. I hope I’ve succeeded in conveying its multi-cultural flavor and the joy it gives me every day.
