Steel Statements

Fifteen magnificent sculptures created by students from Istanbul’s prestigious Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University illustrate the magic of metal transformed by thought. The thoughts they express are diverse—life’s stages, self-reflection, the Covid-19 pandemic, consumerism, overpopulation, human anatomy, violence against women, and the tenuous state of our planet. Some pieces are figurative. Others abstract. Visions of humanity’s future are presented, as well as work that addresses purely artistic concerns. Introduced by Professor Bulent Cinar, Steel Statements is the first of a planned series of exhibitions focusing on emerging artists.
