Distorted Hand

A tragic story I heard on Japanese news inspired this work. A corrupt company was found to have been dumping toxic chemicals into the ocean near a humble fishing village. As a result of this poison, everybody who handled or consumed the fish from this area—the fishermen, the fishmongers, and their customers—began to develop deformities, particularly in their hands. This work is an acknowledgement of their suffering. And a call for social justice and human decency.
